So now my car is going to be worked on in a day or two.
Why am I more stressed now?
Restoring cars sucks guys. Last goddamn time I buy anything this old.

Funny, everyone went mental over the grille-less Tesla, but I remember seeing that Firebird back in the day and think, dang, there’s no grille on that thing, it looks cool.

The bottom two grilles are functional, but that front air dam/splitter/whatever drives air up in the radiator. Supposed to make it more aerodynamic. I am planning on doing a write up once I can get the damn thing on the road. I also plan on trying to get Mr. Regular to take a peek at it (since we are in the same state)

This is the car equivalent of “I’m never drinking AGAIN.”

I think it’s because the front end of the Tesla looks like it’s supposed to have a grill there, but they just forgot to cut it in. This Pontiac, not so much.

Sadly, nine times out of ten, it’s just hollow words meant to keep your car in the shop. I’ll bet money that 2-3 days from now your car will be just as un-worked on.

I don’t have a problem, seriously. I can stop buying rustbuckets whenever I want.
lets just put it this way. This car is original. Very original. As in 37 years of neglect original.

Yeah, until one day you see an ad for a ‘73 super duty, and just decide to drive by to peek.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Can somewhat confirm. From the repairers perspective, restos are a hell of a lot more rewarding than fixing your 1,092,913th beige Camry bumper, but dear god the time, money, and unforeseen nightmares (oh, great, someone riveted patch panels onto this thing underneath 3/4" of body filler and five paint jobs that I’ve been grinding on for 45 minutes trying to find bare metal).
My shop currently (1970 is the newest thing on the floor ATM):

If it is, she is going somewhere else. I figure I will just pay 40$ for new tow straps and have my buddy dolly it.

Two of my customers got shafted by other resto shops. Half assed work, mudding and priming over corrosion to make the appearance of progress and charge for work they really didn’t do. The teal and white F100 was weeping rust from the upper bedside down the 1 year old paint when it came in. Prior shop didn’t bother to seamseal anything, and just fiberglassed over rot.
Good luck with your F Body, they are beautiful cars.

Thanks. I haven't even started the serious bodywork yet (not my skill set) but most everything else I plan on doing myself.
